Elliot Spitzer is the Attorney General of New York State. He has been cracking down on corporate fraud and other kinds of wrongdoing in the US business community. He is doing the job that massive corruption prevents from happening in the federal government (in general) and in most states. He has an excellent web site with a large number of good links. Because of him, the State of New York has a good recent record in investor protection, environmental stewardship, labor rights, personal privacy, public safety, criminal law enforcement, Wall Street excesses, reform of the nation's financial services industry, power plant regulation, green grocery abuses, internet companies, direct marketers, privacy protections, gun manufacturer regulation and white collar fraud. He is the closest thing to a "People's Lawyer" that exists in the USA. He also serves on the boards of some not-for-profit organizations. For helping to rectify the vast abuses of the USA environment and the vast abuses of poor and low-pay workers/families by the current government/corporate antidemocratic insurgency, Elliot Spitzer has been named Futuresaver of the Week.
