FUTURESAVER OF THE WEEK ENDING 7-12-2003

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is one of the world's best and most accurate broadcasters of news and other programming on TV and radio. It is currently being assaulted by elements of the British government for broadcasing alleged lies by one of its reporters. Since the Blair government has recently broadcast numerous lies itself, the BBC seems much more credible than the current government. The truth seems clear: Blair made a terrible error of judgement when he conspired with compulsive lier Bush to propagandize in favor of aggressive war against Iraq by so grossly twisting the facts that people were led to believe that attacking Iraq was a good and honorable act rather than the war crime that it actually is. Intimidating the BBC to broadcast lies instead of truths is an act of a government unworthy of the support of its people. For broadcasting truth to Britons and to the world for over 80 years and for refusing to knuckle under to government propagandists, the BBC has been named Futuresaver of the Week.
