Chief Minister Ms. Mayawati heads the biggest (most populous) state in India, Uttar Pradesh. She is a low-caste Dalit; is the first Dalit Chief Minister to head any of India's state governments and is the youngest Chief Minister Uttar Pradesh has had. She has given the lower castes in India a tremendous boost in esteem and power. Her government is currently under attack by many of the pampered upper-class rich Indian politicians.
