FUTURESAVER OF THE WEEK ENDING 5-17-2003

Bob Herbert has been a New York Times OP ED columnist since 1993. He was a national correspondent for NBC 91-93, appearing on The Today Show and NBC Nightly News. He previously worked for The Daily News, Sunday Editon, New York public television and The Star Ledger. He has won numerous awards. He has a genuine concern for the welfare of all peoples everywhere. Bob Herbert cuts to the heart and soul of reality in his columns, detailing the numerous instances where governments and corporations have failed in their proper mission of compassion, education, health and the minimization of violent dominion/other crimes against ordinary people. He is able to determine who is making life worse for most of us and who is being genuinely helpful. He opposes the death penalty and other barbarous, counterproductive and discriminatory laws. He opposes wars of conquest and dominion like the Iraq war.
