FUTURESAVER OF THE WEEK ENDING 2-15-2003

Kathleen A. Blatz is the Chief Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court. She has received numerous awards and recognitions and has been on many Boards, Advisory Councils and Task Forces. As a legislator she authored a Cocaine Baby Law, created a Children's Trust Fund, improved the child protection system, was co-chair of a task force on Youth Service Work, was on a Commission on Economic Status of Women and was on numerous other commissions and advisory councils. Her leadership as Chief Justice has been outstanding. She has the highest level of conduct and integrity. She is intensely aware of the flaws that still exist in our society and is doing the best she can to make the future better for children, women and the rest of us. For improving the level of justice in Minnesota and, by example, for improving the level of justice in the rest of the USA, Chief Justice Kathleen A. Blatz has been named Futuresaver of the Week.
