Jim Hill is running in the Democratic primary in Oregon to replace Governor John Kitzhaber who is term limited. Jim Hill graduated from Michigan State University in 1968 (one of 16 blacks) and worked himself through graduate school at Indianna University earning an MBA and a law degree. He moved to Oregon in the mid 70s and became an Assistant Attorney General, a State Representative, a State Senator and State Treasurer of Oregon. For having progressive values on Social Security, Martin Luther King holiday, women's right to choose, living wage jobs, Rainy Day Fund, economic revitalization, education, Oregon Schools Employees Association, Oregon Growth Account for new and small businesses, affordable prescription drugs, Oregon Health Plan, School Bond Guarantee Act, clean waterways, smart growth, energy independence and on many other issues and for putting those values to excellent use, Jim Hill has been named Futuresaver of the Week.
