FUTURESAVER OF THE WEEK ENDING 4-13-2002

Bev Stein is running in the Democratic primary in Oregon to replace Governor John Kitzhaber who is term limited. Bev Stein earned a BA in Urban Studies and graduated from law school with a JD. She worked as a legal aid attorney, operated a solo practice and contracted as a consultant for nonprofits and businesses. She served as a State Representative for three terms. She won Multnomah County Chair with 70% of the vote. She streamlined and improved Multnomah County government, the third largest government in Oregon. She has an excellent history of community service and has won many awards. For having an excellent progressive record in Oregon in the fields of community, education, labor, government reform, the economy, health, Individual Development, violence, the environment, sustainability, safety and on many other issues, Bev Stein has been named Futuresaver of the Week.
