Congressman Mel Watt of North Carolina's 12th district has an 87% environmental score for the 106th Congress, according to the League of Conservation Voters. He is a member of the House Judiciary Committee and of its Constitution Subcommittee and of its Commercial and Administrative Law (ranking Democrat) Subcommittee. He is a member of the House Financial Services Committee and of its Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit, its Subcommitte on Housing and Community Opportunity and of its Subcommittee on International Monetary Policy and Trade. He is also a member of the Joint Economic Committee of the House and Senate.
