Dr. Speciosa Wandira Kazibwe is Vice President of Uganda
and is on the Global Board of Directors of The Hunger Project (THP).
She is one of two women Vice Presidents in the world who has been
a member of the board of THP. She has been very active in the
politics relating to youth and women and was a Councilor in the
Kampala City Council, a Representative in the Parliament, a
member of the assembly that drafted Uganda's new Constitution, an
advisor for President Museveni's campaign and Minister of
Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries. She is also active
in the World Forestry Commission, the International Food Policy
Research Institute, the World Water Commission, advisors to the
Secretary General of the UN on the Development of Africa and the
African Women Committee on Peace and Development. She has
received a Leadership Award from the Centre for Development and
Population Activities and a FAO CERES Medal for contribution to
food security and poverty eradication. For contributing mightily
and tirelessly to the liberation and well-being of African Women
and African Youth, Speciosa Wandira Kazibwe has been named
