Jan Lee is the member of the House of the Oregon
Legislature (District 10, Clackamas) who recently left the
Republican Party and became an Independent. She left the
Republican Party of Oregon for approximately the same reasons
James Jeffords left the national Republican Party: it is the
narrowminded party of the far right because the far right
believers are its controllers. The Oregon Republican Party is
incapable of allowing women the right to choose what to do with
their bodies and with their lives. The party is also incapable of
allowing Oregon Legislators the right to vote their choice on
choice. Jan Lee's defection is another blow to the worst part of
the worst party in the nation and in Oregon - the Republican
Party. For looking at all facets of the current Oregon government
and picking the one thing she could do to most make the current
government better, Jan Lee has been named Futuresaver of the Week.
