FUTURESAVER OF THE WEEK ENDING 6-2-2001

Vermont US Senator James Jeffords has left the Republican Party, is now an Independent and will caucus with the Democratic Party. This puts the Democrats in control of the US Senate and is the best governmental news we've had in 2001. It is the beginning of the end for the W and for the power of the Republican Party as the narrowminded party of the far right. Jeffords is an environmentalist and the W and most other Republicans are antienvironmentalists so this is also the best news the environment has had in 2001. Jeffords is honest and the W is dishonest so this is also the best victory for honesty we've had in 2001. The W should never have messed with James Jeffords for he is a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. There is no way a corrupt, barbaric Texan can prevail over a sturdy Vermonter with a golden heart. For looking at all facets of the current US government and picking the one thing he could do to most make the current government better, Senator James Jeffords has been named Futuresaver of the Week.
