Congressman Luis Gutierrez of Illinois' 4th district has a
93% environmental score for the 106th Congress, according to the
League of Conservation Voters. He is a member of the House
Veteran's Affairs Committee and is a member of its Subcommittee
on Veteran's Health. He is also a member of the House Committee
on Banking and Financial Services and a member of three of its
Subcommittees. He is also a member of the Democratic
Congressional leadership. In addition to his good record on the
environment, he has an impressive progressive record on
immigration, education, citizenship workshops, human rights,
civil rights, family solidarity, immigrant rights, Fairness for
Immigrants Act, Central American and Caribbean Refugee Adjustment
Act, congressional reform, federal energy conservation, mass/public
transit, other transportation issues, guns, violence, safety,
veteran's issues, affordable health care, women's issues,
children's issues, social and community activist issues,
affordable housing, ethics, discrimination, labor and on many
