Leonard Peltier is one of the US's most prominent political prisoners. Just as the Soviet Union once was infamous for its huge prison empire filled mostly with political prisoners and nonviolent prisoners who did not belong there, the US is now infamous for its huge prison empire filled mostly with political prisoners and nonviolent prisoners who do not belong there. Leonard is in jail not because he killed someone but because he was framed by an FBI determined to eliminate a political activist opposed to internal US repression. He was not pardoned by President Clinton because the President was threatened by the same FBI that was involved in covering up the real assassins of the sixties and seventies. Now the FBI is involved in covering up the Florida Political Coup. How powerful the Bushes and their decadent political allies have become! But when the truth comes out the crooked Bushy house of cards will collapse and America will have a chance to taste real freedom.
