Congressman James McGovern of Massachusetts' 3rd district
has a 100% environmental score for 1999, according to the League
of Conservation Voters. He is a member of the House
Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, of its Subcommittee
on Aviation and of its Subcommittee on Water Resources and
Environment. He is a regional whip for his New England Democratic
colleagues. In addition to his sterling environmental record, he
has an impressive progressive record on transportation, human
rights, education, health care, Social Security, women's issues,

feeding programs, children's issues, foreign policy, debt relief,
