Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. of Illinois' 2nd district has a 100% environmental score for 1999, according to the League of Conservation Voters. He is a member of the House Appropriations Committee and of it's Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education and of it's Subcommittee on Foreign Operations, Export Financing, and Related Programs. In addition to his recent sterling environmental record, he has an impressive progressive record on education, government investment, transportation, labor, civil rights, human rights, equal opportunity, real justice, real democracy, AIDS and other medical problems, death penalty, affirmative action, gun safety, choice, campaign finance reform, prescription drug subsidies, seniors, a health care system of equal high quality, more inclusive presidential debates, The Responsible Fatherhood Act, affordable housing, monopolies, fair taxes and fair tax cuts, accurate census, science/technology/internet, police brutality, minimum wage, foreign policy and on many other issues.
