Congressman Jay Inslee of Washington's 1st district has a
100% environmental score for 1999, according to the League of
Conservation Voters. He is a member of the Committee on Resources
and it's Subcommittee on National Parks and Public Lands and of
it's Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources. He is a member
of the Committee on Banking and Financial Services and of it's
Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit and of
it's Subcommittee on Domestic and International Monetary Policy.
In addition to his sterling environmental record. he has an
impressive progressive record on campaign finance reform,
education, seniors, family issues, safety, guns, tax reform,
community policing, family planning, health issues, United
Nations, technology/science/internet/biotechnology, affordable
prescription drugs, Medicare, transportation/light rail,
community, global warming, labor issues, bank reform, women's
issues, children's issues, violence and on many other issues. For
doing the right thing for all of us and for the Earth's
biosphere, Jay Inslee has been named Futuresaver of the Week.
