Maneka Gandhi is and/or has been an India writer, animal
activist, environmentalist, Minister of State for Environment and
Forests, Minister of Welfare, Member of Parliament and in other
posts. She has done excellent work in all of these activities for
the peoples, animals and environments of India. Her organizing
skills, use of technical short cuts and common sense reforms are
outstanding. For her humanitarian efforts to save the multiple
environments of India, Maneka Gandhi has been named Futuresaver
