Asma Jahangir is an internationally-known human rights
lawyer and activist, Chairperson of the Human Rights Commission
of Pakistan and a member of the Women's Action Forum. She has
repeatedly been harrassed for her views and actions in defense of
the human rights that women, children and bonded laborers should
have in Pakistan. Many threats of death and other threats have
been made against her and against her clients. Some of her
clients have actually been killed. For doing all that she can to
bring full human rights and justice to all of the people of
Pakistan, Asma Jahangir has been named Futuresaver of the Week.
