Congressman Michael Capuano of Massachusetts' 8th district
has a 100% environmental score for 1999, according to the League
of Conservation Voters. He is a member of the House Committee on
Banking and Financial Services (and of its Housing and Community
Opportunity Subcommittee and of its Capital Markets, Securities
and Government Sponsored Enterprises Subcommittee). He is also a
member of the House Committee on Science (and of its Technology
Subcommittee and of its Space and Aeronautics Subcommittee). He
was elected President of his Democratic Freshman Class in
November 99 and was elected as a Democratic Regional Whip in
December 98. In addition to his sterling environmental record, he
has an impressive progressive record on transportation, banking
reform, witness reform, women's issues, minimum wage, patient's
rights, affordable housing, hate crimes prevention, community
health centers, disaster insurance reform, labor issues, civil
rights, human rights, safety, Medicare, arts, census, health
issues, animal rights, children's issues, Social Security,
affordable prescription drugs, technology issues, foreign policy
