FUTURESAVER OF THE WEEK ENDING 5-20-2000

Dr Sylvia Earle is a world-renowned oceanographer, marine botanist, ecologist and writer. She is presently Chairman of DOER Marine Operations. She wrote five books and numerous articles including Sea Change: A Message of the Oceans which is an excellent introduction to the realities, wonders, mysteries and problems of the earth's oceans. Her main message is that we need to insure a healthy and sustainable biosphere. For doing everything that she can to explore the ocean's environments and to save them from human pollution and overexploitation, Sylvia Earle has been named Futuresaver of the Week.
