Congresswoman Juanita Millender-McDonald of California's 37th
district has a 100% environmental score for 1999, according to
the League of Conservation Voters. She is a member of the House
Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure (Subcommittees on
Surface Transportation and on Aviation) and the House Committee
on Small Business (Ranking Member on the Subcommittee on
Empowerment). She also serves as Democratic Region One Whip,
Congressional Womens Caucus (Co-chair Women Owned Business
Legislative Team), Congressional Black Caucus, Co-Chair of
California ISTEA Task Force and Congressional Caucus on children.
In addition to her recent sterling environmental record, she has
an impressive progressive record on civil and human rights
issues, transportation, small business, women's issues,
children's issues, drugs, education, health issues, guns and
other violence issues, alcohol issues, AIDS issues, telemedicine
and other technology issues, affordable housing, literacy,
seniors, worker's issues, earthquake and other safety issues,
Medicare, Social Security, foreign policy, police brutality,
integration, sweatshops, the CIA and on many other issues. For
