She is a member of the Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (Subcommittees on Children & Families and on Aging), the Committee on Appropriations (Subcommittees on Transportation; Energy & Water; Labor, Health and Human Resources; Foreign Operations and Military Construction RANKING MEMBER), the Committee on the Budget and the Committee on Veteran's Affairs. In addition to her recent sterling environmental record, she has an impressive progressive record on Teacher Technology Training Act, Time for Schools Act of 1997, Family and Medical Leave Act, computers/software, Legislator of the Year award, health insurance and care, education, Youth Violence Forums, Conversations about Children, trade/technology, small business, timber exports, Olympic Peninsula Bike Trail, labor issues, Firearms Victims Protection Act, other gun issues, veterans, women's issues, affirmative action, agriculture, children's issues, seniors, drugs, Social Security, Medicare, housing, consumers, transportation, national debt and on many other issues.
