Jane Goodall is the primatologist and environmentalist who
made a breakthrough in discovering what chimpanzees are all about
both individually and socially. She spent many years observing
the chimpanzees and getting them acclimated to her presence.
Eventually she was able to document the physical and social
details of their lives which turn out to be much like human lives
were before technology and science and language and writing. For
discovering more about chimpanzees than anyone else and for
working tirelessly to educate all of us about the folly of our
destruction of chimpanzee habitat, the folly of our shooting and
kidnapping of chimpanzees and the folly of our destruction of the
habitat of all other animals, Jane Goodall has been named
