Helen Clark is the new Prime Minister of New Zealand. She
is the leader of the New Zealand Labour Party. Labour has the
most seats in the single-chamber 120 seat parliament (49) and
will govern in coalition with the Alliance party (10) and the
Green party (7). There are seven parties that have at least one
seat in the parliament. New Zealand is an example of an
enlightened proportional-representation system of voting. Helen
has an excellent progressive record especially in the field of
international peace and disarmament. For being a shining example
to the US and to the rest of the corrupt, straightlaced world of
how a real democracy works to the benefit of all the people,
