Congressman Lane Evans of Illinois' 17th district has a 100%
environmental score for 1998, according to the League of
Conservation Voters. He is the ranking Democratic member of the
House Veterans Affairs Committee, a member of the Progressive
Caucus, a member of the House National Security Committee and a
member of the Procurement Subcommittee. In addition to his recent
sterling environmental record, he has an impressive record on
veterans, affordable health care, peace, landmines, education,
labor, family issues, economic justice, children's issues,
agriculture, seniors, transportation, safety, women's issues,
affordable prescription drugs, medicare, social security, credit
