Congresswoman Carrie Meek of Florida's 17th district has an
85% environmental record for 1998, according to the League of
Conservation Voters. She is also a member of the Progressive
Caucus, the House Appropriations Committee, the Subcommittee on
Treasury, Postal Service and General Government and the
Subcommittee on VA, HUD and Independent Agencies. In addition to
her good environmental record, she has an impressive progressive
record on labor, retirement security for household workers,
disaster assistance, transportation, family issues, child care,
education, seniors, accurate census, women's issues, minorities,
social security, affordable housing, science, future generations,
public policy leadership and on many other issues. For doing the
