Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur of Ohio's 9th district has a 92%
environmental record for 1998, according to the League of
Conservation Voters. She is also a member of the Progressive
Caucus, is the senior-most Democratic woman in the Congress, is
the senior Democratic woman on the House Appropriations
Committee, and has served on Budget, Banking, Finance, Urban
Affairs and Veteran's Affairs Committees. She refused to accept
Congressional pay raises and donates them to federal deficit and
charitable causes. In addition to her good environmental record,
she has an impressive progressive record on Families, Seniors,
Women, Labor, Medicine, Housing, Community, Medicare, Social
Security, University-related research, Physical and Mental
Health, Peace, Sustainability, Campaign Finance Reform, Lobbying
Reform, Trade, Civil Rights, Defense Policy, Election Reform, Tax
Reform and Fairness, Minimum Wage, Human Rights, Child Care,
Transportation, Safety, Consumer Issues and on many other issues.
