FUTURESAVER OF THE WEEK ENDING 7-17-99

Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin's 2nd district is a member of the progressive caucus and has an excellent progressive record as a member of the Dane County Board of Supervisors (4 terms) and as State Representative for the 78th Assembly District (3 terms). When first elected to the Assembly, she was the youngest woman in the Wisconsin Legislature. She graduated first in her class of 510 students at Madison West High and earned college degrees in mathematics, political science and law. She believes in full health care coverage for all, equal pay for equal work for everyone, guaranteed education for all from preschool through at least two years of college, a full safety net for seniors, a fair and progressive tax system, bold and innovative solutions, full labor rights, full funding for public schools, full protection for the environment, renewed activism for a better tomorrow, full civil rights for women, the disabled, the poor, gays, lesbians and people of color, full campaign finance reform and drug law reform.
