Freeman Dyson's latest book is described in the PBS
interview linked below. Freeman Dyson originated the Dyson shell
(Dyson sphere) concept; is Professor Emeritus of physics at the
Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton; has received many
medals, awards, prizes and honors; his writings are celebrated
for their intellectual range and stylistic elegance; is a member
of the Royal Society, the National Academy of Sciences, the
Bavarian Academy of Sciences and an honorary fellow of Trinity
College. He is a long-time advocate of exploration and
colonization of the solar system and beyond. He is a long-time
peace and disarmament advocate, a former chairman of the
Federation of American Scientists, a leader in populist ethics
and a solar power advocate. He did important work in Quantum
Electrodynamics. For being the deepest and most trustworthy
futurist alive and for being a champion of cosmic ecology,
Freeman Dyson has been named Futuresaver of the Week. Click the
