Jesse Jackson has become the US's #1 peacemaker and
diplomat because the US federal establishment is too addicted to
force, violence and death as the means of achieving their mostly
narrowminded, dogmatic and planet-polluting objectives. Jesse
Jackson is President/Founder of the Rainbow/Push Coalition and
has achieved numerous political and social justice milestones. He
was a student leader in sit-ins, an organizer for the Christian
Leadership Conference, an assistant to Martin Luther King, Jr.
and went on to direct Operation Breadbasket. He founded People
United to Save Humanity. He founded the National Rainbow
Coalition. He was an early advocate of national health care,
solving the drug problem, dialoguing with the Soviet Union,
negotiating about the Middle East, ending South African apartheid
and democracy for Haiti. His two presidential campaigns broke new
ground in enlightened advocacy for a clear progressive agenda.
His international diplomacy has achieved great results. He
secured the release of Robert Goodman from Syria, the release of
48 Cuban and Cuban-American prisoners, the release of hostages
from Kuwait and Iraq and the release of 3 POWs from Yugoslavia.
He is a great orator at schools, for unions, for human rights and
for civil rights. The list goes on and on. For all of the above
and more, Jesse Jackson has been named Futuresaver of the Week.
