Manning Marable has an excellent viewpoint and record on
both racial and progressive issues. He is also able to work
together with others of differing views in the cause of more
rational and humane efforts to solve problems. Dr. Marable is
Professor of History and Director of the Institute for Research
in Afro-American Studies, Columbia University, New York City. His
analysis of the shortcomings of US society and of the efforts
needed to reform it is right on target and conforms to the
dictates of the social reality of racial, ethnic, national and
financial conflicts. For researching the causes and realities of
conflict/dominion, for writing many books and articles, for doing
a great teaching job and for working mightily to resolve these
conflicts in a way that is just and proper for all parties
concerned, Manning Marable has been named Futuresaver of the Week.
