Joan Claybrook is President of Public Citizen. Public Citizen has expanded its original interests to include all the major factors which cause bad safety, bad health, bad corporations, a bad environment and bad government (like the lack of campaign finance reform). Joan Claybrook has done a great job at focusing the efforts of Public Citizen into areas where they can do the most good in helping to reform the multiple ills of our society. For helping to move us toward a less polluted environment, safer and healthier lifestyles, more responsible corporations and governments, a more informed citizenry and a progressive/enlightened view of what it takes to create a real democracy, Joan Claybrook has been named Futuresaver of the Week.
