FUTURESAVER OF THE WEEK ENDING 9-19-98

Patricia Ireland has been President of the National Organization for Women (NOW) since 1991 and has led women and the rest of us toward a better political, financial and humaniarian vision of what society should be like. Patricia and NOW have achieved many victories on the road toward a just and discrimination-free society but we all realize that there are many victories yet to be won on the road to full equality and empowerment in the real world. The obsolete and violence-addicted patriarchal system of domination and subjugation must end if the men, women and children of the world (and the rest of the biosphere) are to survive in dignity, decency and freedom from massive pollution/destruction of natural resources. Men are the masters of greed and violence and greed/violence are the enemies of survival through the 21st century.
