Winona LaDuke is an excellent and highly capable
environmental activist, political activist, racial activist,
writer, speaker, teacher and mother. She ran with Ralph Nader in
1996 for vice-president/president. She is the author of a great
novel, Last Standing Woman, about the Anishinabe culture and of
many articles, commentaries, etc. She grew up in Los Angeles,
graduated from Harvard and moved to the White Earth reservation
in northern Minnesota. For being an internationally-recognized
voice for environmental and economic concerns and for all of her
other splendid activities, Winona LaDuke has been named
