The Process and Resources

Step 1:  Form groups of 6 people.

Step 2:   Allocate roles. 

Step 3:    The information that you need to research will vary according to your role.  Click on the globe beside your role below and you will be linked to a research page with the necessary resources.  You must take notes using your own words from the linked  sites.

Step 4:   Share your information gained with the rest of your group.  Talk about your multimedia presentation and how it will be presented.  You must work on the part of the presentation that you have researched.

Step5:  Your final activity will be to present your case, as a Delegation, to the United Nations Congress (the class and visitors) using multimedia and charts and photos. 

   Evaluation

I will be evaluating steps 1 & 2 by simply observing your participation in choosing a group and role. 

Step 3 requires individual research.  Evaluation will be based on the accuracy of your answers and the writing skills, critical thinking skills and analysis you display in your written work. 

In your multimedia presentation I will be looking for:

• historical accuracy
• visual attractiveness

For the oral presentations, you must present your own information.  Presentations will be marked on:

• speaking skills
• organisation

   Conclusion

Upon completion of this webquest, you will have achieved the following outcomes.

• Increased your computer skills in a meaningful way. 
• You should have a greater understanding of how the windiest, coldest place on Earth is a valuable resource that we must care for and conserve.
