| After using the CSM v.9
simulator I couldn't wait to try out the newer v.10 realease. The CSM v.10 is everything
the previous version was plus more complex flying fields, a solid model of a Futura
helicopter (that's what is looks like to me anyway) with a simulated CSM gyro on board.
The new simulator also allows you to adjust more of the colors on each helicopter as well
as the settings in the simulated gyro. It also has a new follow mode. Practicing on the new simulator is the same except
for the fact that the new more complex flying fields aid in orientation and depth of
field. The solid model of the Futura is also a nice addition and aids viewing the
helicopter's attitude in flight.
What do I like about the new simulator? I
like the new Futura model, and the additional flying fields. What I enjoy most is the new
follow feature included in the new simulator. While flying on the simulator pressing '6'
on your keyboard allows you to fly behind your helicopter no matter where it goes.
Pressing '5' on your keyboard allows you to walk / run behind your helicopter on the
ground. These two new features I like very much.
The new simulator can be executed from
within windows, but it does run a lot slower under windows, plus you might experience a
few glitches as I did. Recommend running the simulator only in DOS for clean operation. |
