The blackened concave face of "Ventilated Hill" was coated with condensing Iron Silicates that evaporated on impact. But not all the meteorite evaporated. The remains shattered into millions of pieces that still had enough force to drive through at least thirty [30] feet of sandstone, evaporating itself and the sandstone as it went. The "pipes" you see in the following photos radiate out and away from the center of the impact. | |||||||||||||||
