Guarulhos International Airport Home Page

- An excelent photo and viewing point, when runways 09L/R are the active ones, what normally happens in 90% of the days.Located on the acces road to the airport, it can be reached after a 10 minutes walk from the bus stop number 1 and 2 , near the Cargo Terminal acces road.Unfortunately parking is no longer permited and if you do it will have problems with the Police (don't expect English speaking cops).Depending on the distance from the aproach path, a 75 to 200mm lens is enough to fill a B737.Thanks to the sun position, this spot is useable throughout the year.

- Another excelent position, actually a hilltop, is located far away from the Terminal, and unfortunately inly reachable by car.Especially interesting when runways 27L/R are the actives ones, as ALL departing traffic uses a taxi-way in front of the hill.Again a 200mm lens is enough to fill a B737.Nice take-off shots are also possible, when runways 09L/R are in use, but in that case, and due to the distance, a 300 to 400mm lens is required to fill the same B737.Due to sun position, that place is only affordable during the aftrenoon.Caution is advised, as it's located in a poor quarter, but the locals use to be friendly.Anyway, keep the cameras in low profile is a good procedure

- Just another good spot, but only when runways 27L/R are in use, located on the perimeter fence.Excelent for landing shots(touch-down point just in front), and due to reduced distance a range from 80 to 135mm is quite enough for a B737.As Spot 2, it's far away from the Terminal and it's better reacheable by car.Best sun conditions are during the mornings, up to 13:00 local.

- Located around 1 km after Spot 3, Spot 4 shares the same good qualities from the former, but the photos from ther will have a nicier background, in that case, a hills range located behind the airport

- The Passengers Terminal itself. Many good spots are available here, although all of them behind glasses.Aiport Authority normaly keeps the windows clean, and the glass is not dark.Best points are the Observation Decks located on 2nd floor of Wings A, B, C and D, the McDonnald's shop(the windows are VERY clean) at Wing D - Departure Floor.Due the distance diferences, lens from 28mm up to 400mm are required for a good B737 shot.

- No longer useable as area fenced. Don't even try it.
