October 2nd, 3rd, and 4th 1998, I spread my wings for the first time! I went to P Town for Laura and Joan’s Five Star Weekend. And let me tell you, it was the biggest thrill of my whole life!
Thursday morning I went to Executive Images in Concord and got my nails done. I got a French Manicure and my nails looked soooooooooo nice! I also made a nice new friend, Stephanie. She did my nails and we had such a really nice chat. She asked me all sorts of questions about me, and, of course, I spilled my guts. One of the really nice things about being a girl is that it is so easy to make friends. When I got home I took some pictures… What do you think?
Friday morning I jumped into the car and drove down to the Cape. I got in just after noon and an hour later I was on Commercial Street. I wore this outfit for the afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed window shopping and stopping into the shoppes and seeing everyone and being seen. It was the most exhilarating experience! I was completely at ease and totally confident… And I know it showed!
One of the shoppes had a caricature artist, so I stopped and had mine done. What do you think?

Laura and Joan made all the arrangements, and this is where they put us up. It’s the Boatslip Beach Club and it’s right on the water. It’s a great place to stay as the rooms are spacious and very nicely appointed. And it is also right on Commercial Street. The staff is cordial and friendly and they have a very comfortable lounge. You’ll have a nice time if you stay there. I’d eat someplace else, though.
Friday evening we had a cocktail party in the lounge. We had a grand time getting to know each other and I made so many nice friends.
The gal who tended bar was so sweet. Her smile seemed to wrap around you and caress you. I just loved her to pieces…

Wow! What a great weekend for Barbaras.

And this is Lauren and Barbara again…. 
Lauren’s room was filled to overflowing with evening gowns and day dresses and blouses and shorts. Lord and Taylor, eat you heart out. She was holding an indoor yard sale so she could recover some closet space at home. I got two killer evening gowns from her and I expect you will be seeing them before too long.
Another friend I made was Jessica. She is Out Rageous. I didn’t get a picture of her, but here she is.
She is the lead singer for the worlds only drag rock band. Her stage name is Kandi Asse and Temptress does rock!

Saturday morning I spent a little while enjoying the sunshine in the garden.
Then, I was off again down Commercial Street. I just strolled along smiling all over myself and enjoying all the other strollers. In Provincetown everyone is so happy and friendly.
I had a great lobster club sandwich at a sidewalk cafe… 
And then I shopped and shopped and shopped!
This is Stormy Harbor Restaurant.
We had a banquet there Saturday night and the food was fabulous!
If you ever get there, be sure to get the chicken.
After dinner we saw a drag show.
If you look closely you can just see Joan peeking into the picture. I’m sorry, hon. I’ll get a full portrait next year.
After the show, I had my picture taken with A Pair of Queens.
What a fun weekend!
By the way, while I was at Stormy Harbor I met a very sweet girl named Dana Lynn Henricksen. She runs a Victorian Bed and Breakfast that is as every bit as comfortable as it is quaint. It’s called Three Peaks.
Dana is a T Girl, so you know if you stay with her you’ll find a kindred spirit as well as comfortable accommodations and a warm welcome hearth.
Oh, and there’s a complimentary sherry in the evening.
