These next two songs come from the movie Flashdance, a story about a young woman in Pittsburgh who lived to dance. She got a job as a welder and then scrimped and saved. She worked a second job at night as a dancer in a bar where she developed her talent and perfected her own style. She sacrificed and persevered and put up with more hassle than you and I ever thought about. Then, at last she went to the school of dance and auditioned for admission… She knocked ’em dead!
So in celebration of her triumph and mine I adopted it.
Why did I mention Pittsburgh? *smile* When I was growing up I lived there for a while. It’s the greatest city in the world.
