THE BUNKER SHOT

GREENSIDE BUNKER: A sand wedge is designed to bounce off the sand once the club has been set correctly in your hands. Australian squad member and Grange Simpson Cup player Andy Johnson shows us in these pictures just how it is done out of the greenside bunker.

Attempt to keep a consistent swing and vary the amount of sand you take: For example:
  • Short shot - 2 inches of sand
  • Mid shot - i inch of sand
  • Long shot - 1/2 inch of sand
TIP: Remeber to always follow through!

Practice hitting shots taking similar swings but different amounts of sand. You will start to get used to the distance the balls travel.
