Doors in Your Dreams
Our DreamingWorld members give their thoughts on Doors in dreams :-)
Someone at the door: Opportunity; the unexpected; new experience.
Front Door: Public self; confidence; our relationship with people in general.
Back Door: Our private, family life; our more secret activities.
Side Door: Escaping from a situation or being indirect.
Shutting a Door: Privacy; trying to find space for oneself; repressing memories or feelings; the dismissing attitudes or tension we use to shut others out of intimate contact.
Door to Strange landscape or World: Finding entrance to the unconscious.Doors are passageways and in our dreams they hold that symbolism.
Going thorough a door may represent going form one state of consciousness to another, or from one inner plane to another.
If the doors are locked or closed it may represent opportunities that are not currently available to you, or obstacles.
Many doors may represent choices that you are currently faced with.

Sheree
From The Dreamer's Dictionary by Lady Stearn Robinson and Tom Corbett:

DOOR.
Closed or locked doors usually signify vain regrets over past or missed opportunities; save your energy.
An open door, especially if it reveals a pleasing vista, predicts a realization of your highest hopes.
More than one door in a dream means that you will soon be able to choose from a number of good opportunities.

From
Mary Summer Rain's Guide to Dream Symbolism by Mary Summer Rain and Alex Greystone.

Door: Indicates a life factor that one must experience or "pass through" to achieve advancement or progress along one's path.
Doorbell: comes as an attention-getting symbol that "calls" one to an important experience or opportunity.
Doorkeeper: characterises an individual who must be communicated with before an opportunity can be taken advantage of.
Doorknob: refers to "access" to advancement or opportunity.
Doorman: characterises one who is ready to "open doors" for the dreamer as long as the dreamer is deserving or well-prepared.
Doormat: may indicate a respect for and appreciation of opportunities or it may warn against a poor self-image. Surrounding details will clarify this meaning.
Door Prize: indicates extra benefits gained by taking opportunities.
Door Step: points to "steps" or aspects leading to new opportunities.
DoorStop: stands for "open" opportunities.

MY THOUGHTS:

I have to agree with Mary Summer Rain's interpretations on these. Doors have long symbolised to me an opening to an opportunity, or a part of myself. If the door is stuck or locked it might be symbolic that you are putting up barriers between yourself and what you desire. Open doors can symbolise easy access to what you need. Taking notice of where the door takes you is important also, for example: if you enter a door to an attic it might be tellng you that you have an opportunity to "clean out the past" or "let go", or even to "experience it again". A door into a bathroom might represent a need for spiritual or emotional cleansing and an opportunity to take it. A glass door that is locked would could represent that the best course of action for you is right under your nose and you can see it, but you are "barring" the way to get there. Doors into unknown places or different worlds, can represent a threshold to the astral realms, the unconscious or some other place magickal.

Blessed Dreaming

Think you nearly have said it all! So as a bit of fun I will put in the divinitory meanings.

"To dream of a door opening unexpectedly is an intimation that you ought to be saving as much as possible as an opportunity will occur for you to make a lot of money if you have sufficient capital.
To see many doors indicates a visit from a person you distrust. If you are knocking at a door of a strange house and gain admittance you will make a new friend shortly; but if the door is not opened you will be disappointed in and engagement."
