House = Soul As well as representing the way in which we build our lives. Different rooms and parts of the house may indicate parts of our personalities and our experiences. Like an attic; this may be pointing to our subconscious and the things we have stored away, much like in real life where we pack away memories in a box and put them in basement or attic. A basement also represents the base from which we can draw our power, our strength, depending on how willing we are to make use of it. How the front of the house is manifested in your dreams can be representative of how you appear to the outside world. And have you ever found yourself working on the house? Maybe repairing the step? That can mean a need to repair broken relationships or even something we feel isn't working within ourselves. Bright Blessings ~Jezanna~ |

This is some information I've collected from different books and online web sources and things. (then there's my theory LOL) HOUSES House = Home and Family If you dream of visiting old family home you will hear from very good news. If the home itself, is in a dilapidated condition and general neglect, then it could refer to the health of a family member. If you go home and find everything much the same as it was and you feel and express joy in the dream you will find love and joy in your present home. Family influences. Haunted House: To dream you are the victim of haunting by the spirit, or supernatural side, shows that you have many things on your mind, and/or things that 'come back to haunt you'. Use all the parts of your dream to find out just what situation in your life is haunting you and put your mind at ease. House (by Mary Summer Rain) Stands for the mind. See specific ypes of houses for more information) Farm House - The Emotions. MY THOUGHTS: Personally I believe that the house represents the body. That the different rooms that you look into and where the dream takes place have something to do with your body, whether it's on a physical, emotional or spiritual level. Take a good look at the appearance of the house. If there is poor shingling on the roof you could look at the meaning of roof (pertaining to one's priorities; highest "capping" thoughts), and relate it to yourself - so by seeing that the roof is falling apart, you might be going through a time of trial and having to readjust some of your priorities. If the door is wide and open, then it might represent new opportunities or a really easy time without "obstacles", whereas if the door is narrow, it could mean the opposite, that you need to find a different approach (like through the window hehehe). Take a look also at things like the porch or verandah. Notice it's condition. Also notice if they're enclosed or open ones. This will relate to your personality sometimes :-) FROM: Mary Summer Rain's Guide To Dream Symbolism. An enclosed porch can suggest a desire to maintain maximum distance from someone, or a need for privacy. An open one denotes a forthright and welcoming attitude. A house aboveground can represent conventional standards in society, so an underground one can relate to your need to "go against" society's standards, or a need to "hide". If the house has an antenna it can suggest a need for clarity of thought and ideas. If the house has arches it can portray a gentle passing through "openings" in one's life. Steps: Will pertain to one's ascent or descent in relation to one's life progression or advancement. Recall the type of steps and the condition of the same. Back Steps of a house denote the hidden or secret movements; alternative agendas. Bay Windows: denotes a greater "view" or perspective may be required. Chimney: pertains to emotional control. Garden: Constitutes spiritual blessings and talents. What condition was this dream garden in? Foliage: Connotes natural abilities. Verandah: Represents an opportunity to obtain fresh ideas. Garage: Represents a place of rest or stored energy. Split-Level: warns of an internal conflict. Love and light *LaughingKoala* |

Houses... big subject. Psychologically one of the most versatile of symbols, as the "structure" of the house and it's contents are identified with the structure of the dreamer's self, mind, body and spirit. Certain room functions may be related to associated functions of self.... the bedroom, sexuality, maybe - fairly personal associations. Often the different levels of a house... basement, middle attic, can mean different levels of a concept. Quite often past, present, future, or subconscious, conscious and superconscious, or different levels of the particular issue you are dreaming about at the point in time. The nature of the building or house can be really important. Say if it was a castle, then it might be something to do with how you defend yourself. Or if it was run down, or in a bad state... well the links are fairly obvious. So if you are inside the house, you are on the whole looking at the inside of yourself, and the outside and garden, you interface between you and the "real" world. Objects actually within the house will be aspects of thoughts and feelings, particularly strange unfamiliar objects. If things approach from downstairs its usually something rising up from the subconscious, and coming down from above, from the higher mind. Repairs and redecoration can mean a literal renovation of attitude, or personal growth. Similarly, demolishing a house or destroyed parts of it can mean a rapid and dramatic shift in belief systems. Sweet Dreams! Peregrine. |

Apart from cars, I also dream every night about either my house or my grandmother's house. To me a house is mostly to do with the body, oneself. It may be a different matter if it is a house you do not know. It depends on what you feel about it. The house also has to do with our mind and attitudes about everything. Inside the house: within one's body. Outside the house and garden: one's relationship with environment. Ground Floor: practical everyday life, sexuality; hips and legs. Basement: unconscious. First and Middle Floors: internal needs, rest, hungers, sleep; the trunk or abdomen. Top floor or attic: thinking; the conscious mind; memory; the head. Floor: basic attitudes and confidence; what supports you, such as health. Ceiling: boundaries of ideas of awareness. Roof: beliefs or coping strategies we use to protect ourselves from stress. Wall: the feelings or attitudes we keep people away with - the walls we put up between us to maintain privacy, stop being hurt, or to maintain a role or status. Front of the House: our persona; facade; social self; face. Things in how you see others. Doors: a boundary; the feelings or attitudes we use to shut others out of our life to remain private or independent; being open or inviting. Repairs, enlargement or renovation: reassessment or change of attitudes or character; personal growth. Damage or Structural Faults: Faults in character structure; bodily illness. House falling down or burning: big changes in attitudes; leaving old standards or dependancies behind; sickness. Cramped House: Feeling of need for personal change; feeling restricted in home environment or in present personal attitudes. Finally I'm going to add these last three to do with other people and the house. Other people in house: different facets of dreamer. People or things coming from downstairs: influences, fears, impressions from unconscious or passions - or from everyday worries.People or things from upstairs: influence of rational self. Attackers or intruders from outside: social pressures or response to criticisms. See also: Windows and Doors Keep on Dreaming Sheree sheibub@hotmail.com |
