About About Networks

What is Networks of Southeastern Ohio?
Our two functions are serving Muskingum County as an information and referral provider and being a volunteer action center.

What is information and referral (I & R)?
Information and referral is a critical step people can count on when faced with a challenge in life.  We have a call line that assists individuals in finding the resources in the Muskingum County area.  Whether a person would need help finding a support group, to finding food, to finding a service agency, we have the information through an extensive database of area resources.  We work with service providers in the area to make sure the information is comprehensive, up to date, and the best so callers receive the right answers to their questions.

What is a volunteer action center?
Networks or Southeastern Ohio realizes that it takes volunteers to make a healthy community!  We assist in referring individuals to charitable organizations who are in need of volunteers.  We have over 150 volunteer opportunities that are right for individuals, groups, clubs, seniors, youth, students, companies, among others.  Networks of Southeastern Ohio is the link between people who WANT TO BE THE DIFFERENCE in their community and the many organizations that require volunteers to provide services to help those in need!

Currently, there are over 450 volunteer centers in the United States.  There are 30 in Ohio alone!

Networks of Southeastern Ohio works to share best practices and resources around volunteer management, we facilitate trainings, and we provide technical assistance to volunteer administrators.
