Mad Saxuality
What exactly is Mad Saxuality? When we figure
it out, we'll let you know. Just Kidding. Mad
Saxuality is the corruption assoicated with band.
Its when the senior doesn't get section leader or
caption over the sophomore. Its when you can work
your hardest, but if you're not the favorite you
will never get what you deserve. Why the name
'Mad Saxuality'? If you haven't figured it out
already, Saxuality is a pun about the Musical
instrument the Saxophone and todays society of
Sex. And hey.. it makes a cool slogan. What
better way to attract people's curiousity!
Purpose
Right now 10eris's purpose is to bring out the
topics of bands all over. Whether they deal with
conspiracy, or just band members thoughts, its a
braod range of topics that are allowed here.
History : The First 2 Years
This site layout and design was made by Andrew
Festa(a.k.a 10eris the First). It was first
created in November of 1997 as a site just to say
'Look I have a web site!' This was prompted by
Josh Arden making a page before everyone else. No
one accually knows for sure if Josh still has his
pages for they aren't realy that visited.
10eris, was being over shadowed by Andy's
AndyLand website, which used Geocities as it's
server. Sometime in February, He changed to
format to include band rumors, which hit big.
After all, Expage provided an excelllent
interface to jsut go in and add a rumor, as
opposed of making HTML with GeoCities.
"10eris's Page of Mad Saxuality",
spawned "Home of the Divder"(now Joes's
Jokes), which at first tried the same thing, but
eventually became it's own unique page.
The one thing all the Expages had in common
was their cheer for their section "Go
Divder", "Clarinets Rules!", etc.
The prompeted an anonomus person called
'bandmember'(who had origianlly prompted Andy to
redo 10eris to Rumors instead of crap), to make
his own site entitled "All Sections are
Bad". He had what now one else had - a poll.
His site got taken down a couple days later for
saying some unfavorable opinons about certain
people(who obvioulsly can't take a joke) In May,
bandmember conviced Andy to add a poll to 10eris.
The first poll : "What should I do with this
site", started off everyone else getting
polls too. The pages grew even more. Now each
encorporated Polls, and more sites poped up like
"Fruity Flutes", "The Guitar
Player", and "The Drummers Page"
For a brief time in late June, Andy created
the "Toms River HS South Students
WebRing" had 10eris host it temporarily, and
became the first site to join in on the newly
created WebRing. In July, the Andy moved the
Webring to it's own space in GeoCites where it
could grow larger and allow students to join
easily.
When Andy moved the webring, he passed the
page to another (whom has yet to be identified).
10eris the Second, added Instrument Jokes to
format. Prompted by some questioning of band
ethics, He/she/it/them created 10eris's Opinions
where anyone could write how they felt.
With Andy's help, He/She/It/Them, recreated
the entire layout using frames, GeoCities, and
Expage, to create the largest site on the
webring. 10eris's SITE of Mad Saxuality was put
right where AndyLand used to be.
Due to some server problems with Geocities
(nicknamed GeoShities), 10eris was foreced to
find a new address, and its now in its present
location of Athens/Styx/8685. 10eris II gave up
the reins when the interest was lost. (Maybe it
was because 10eris I & II started seeing each
other on romantic terms instead of working on the
website). After short updates every once in a
while, Mad Saxuality became old, and no one would
take over. All the other expages fell of the face
of the internet, and the webring was in a lull.
With some altering, Andy changed the webring
and attracted more users, and he hopes to do the
same with Mad Saxuality. 10eris II offically gave
up the reins in December 98, and Andy took it
over again, trying to spawn some life into it.
Unfortuatly there was never enough time. He
closed the site for renervations on 6/26 and it
reopened a month and a day later on 7/27.
Now it has a new mission: To attract more
people to the site, let them speak their mind,
and let other people debate or agree with them in
hopes some director is reading it and will change
their ways. Bands everywhere are exactly the
same, and maybe one day Mad Saxuality will be the
start of something new...
