The Rock Cycle

The Rock Story Assignment -Describe what happens to the rock as it goes through the processes that change it from one type of rock into another type. Use the rock cycle diagram below to help you keep the project scientifically accurate. You may choose to write your story as an autobiography or a biography. Another interesting form is a radio or television interview format. You may present your project in the form of a : song, poem,cartoon, TV play, play, illustrated story, radio show, etc!

For those that prefer, you may create a poster to describe what happens to the rock as it goes through the processes that change it from one type of rock into another type.

Requirements: Your project must describe the three major types of rocks and what happens to a rock as it goes through the processes that change it from one type of rock into another type. You must use the processes discussed for each step in the cycle and you must describe the rock's appearance and other major characterisics in each group.

Due Dates: Periods 2 and 3 - Thursday, January 6, 2000

Periods 4, 5, 6 - Friday, January 7, 2000
