So, what's it like to compete in the acedemic arena on an international level? Just ask one of our four resident brain-busters: Desmond Chik (Chemistry), Daniel Minhinnick (Physics), C.W. Lim (Physics) and Robert Huang (Physics).

Unfortunately, the team of three from our class (along with the rest of the NZ team) who attended the Physics Olympiad this year didn't come back without any medals :( . The squad arrived back in Auckland on the 29th of July, though not completely empty-handed, R. Huang receiving an 'Honourable Mentions' certificate.

The Chemistry Olympiad, however, was much more successful. With a total of 3 bronze medals - the NZ team did extremely well, our very own D.Chik bringing home one of the three.

Here follows the two articles to be published in this year's Chronicle

Chemistry Olympiad - by Desmond Chik

Physics Olympiad - by Daniel Minhinnick
