Saint Charles and Nativity of our Lady Parishes share the responsibility
for one "Holy Place", the Saint Charles - Nativity Cemetery on Pleasant
Street in Amherst. Parishioners have been buried there for well over a
century. We gather in the cemetery each year in September to celebrate
the Eucharist for all those buried in our cemetery. Saint Charles - Nativity
Cemetery is managed by a committee appointed by the two Parish Councils.
All cemetery costs are paid from sales of cemetery lots, grave opening
charges and revenues from Perpetual Care monies which are held in trust.
Bequests and donations from families of those buried in the cemetery have
helped us considerably over the years.
