        (Buchanon Cabin, Abingdon VA 1995)
This photo of the gang at Abingdon in 1995 appeared in the Bristol Herald as part of the publicity for the Virginia Highland Festival.  The festival, held during the first two weeks of August, is one of the largest of is kind in the country, and features Appalachian music, dance and crafts.


(Sinking Spring Cemetery, Abindgon, Virginia 1995)
The fellas visit the grave site of Colonel Samuel Vance Fulkerson at Sinking Spring Cemetery, in Abingdon.  Colonel Fulkerson led the 37th Virginia from its formation in 1861 to his untimely death at the Battle of Gaines Mill in June, 1862.  He distinguished himself for bravery at the Battles of Kernstown and Port Republic, and has been referred to as "Stonewall Jackson's favorite Colonel."
