to start off with, I admit having a homepage about yourself is rather self-indulgent. Putting up personal information for the world to see is self-promoting at worse, overly optimistic at best -- because, when you think about it, who really cares?
But I also believe that since this internet thing exists, why not take advantage of it? And one of the things it benefits is communication. I have already met people I would not have otherwise via internet. Having a homepage, then, is an attempt to initiate dialogue, if anything.
